We all thought Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool character was funny (alright, hysterical), but now we realize it wasn’t just great writing. A lot of that humor had to come from Reynolds himself.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, you should know that Reynolds and wife Blake Lively welcomed their first daughter, James, about a year and a half ago. Something we didn’t realize, however, was how hilarious Reynolds’ take on the whole parenting thing is.

Tumblr user Lotte realized it though, and put together a compilation of all of Reynolds’ magnificent paternal tweets.

After reading some of these, Ryan Reynolds is probably now the only person anyone would want to listen to talk about their kids.

Lively is currently pregnant again with their second child, and we can’t wait to see what lies in store for Reynolds, but until then, read these tweets and prepare to wish he was your dad, or husband. Either one you would probably be happy with.

My daughter just sneezed into my yawning mouth. Seemed really fucking pleased with herself. Joke's on her. She'll have to bury me someday.

I'm teaching my daughter that the sun goes down each night because it's mad at her. Probably gonna write a book on parenting at some point.

I'd walk through fire for my daughter. Well not FIRE, because it's dangerous. But a super humid room. But not too humid, because my hair.

My daughter's only 6 months old and already drawing. I'd hang it on the fridge but honestly, it's absolute garbage.

Nothing better than spending an entire morning staring into my baby daughter's eyes, whispering, "I can't do this".

— Ryan Reynolds (@VancityReynolds) August 26, 2015

Happy birthday to my baby girl! Sad I lost my virginity. But thankful I have a daughter.

LOVE dressing my daughter in baby clothes. The itsy-bitsy pink pajamas. The tiny white socks. The black leather mask. Cuteness overload!

— Ryan Reynolds (@VancityReynolds) June 13, 2015

On Fathers Day, my daughter smiled at me.

It was all the gift I needed as I packed a bag and left for 6 years to write a book on parenting.

Selecting a lower back tattoo for an infant is easy. Finding someone willing to do the work is challenging. https://t.co/8IcMRo21fw
