While he may not be old enough to drive, this 6-year-old from Massachusetts is already enforcing the rules of the road.

Robbie Richardson called 911 on Wednesday to report that his own father had broken a traffic rule after he ran a red light while running some errands. The Quincy Police Department posted the 911 call to their Facebook page, sharing the unusual and funny phone call.

“Every day we answer numerous 911 calls,” the department shared. “Often times, these calls are from individuals who are in need of immediate assistance. Sometimes, it’s a simple misdial. Then there’s Robert’s 9-1-1 call.”

Listen to the call below.

After Richardson told the dispatcher that his father ran the red light, they asked to speak to him about the call. They both had a good laugh about the situation.

“I’m just wanting to apologize — that’s my 5-year-old son,” Richardson’s father said when he got on the phone.

“He just wanted to let us know you ran a red light,” shared the dispatcher.

“Oh no,” Richardson’s father laughed.

Richardson’s father explained that he had taught his son to call 911 in emergencies, however it seems like Richardson misinterpreted the traffic violation and considered it an emergency.

“When he says he’s going to do something, he does it,” Richardson’s father told WHDH.

Richardson hopes to enter the law enforcement and become a police officer when he grows up. No surprises there!
