Mexican politician Braulio Guerra, a representative in his country’s Chamber of Deputies, successfully protested Donald Trump’s controversial immigration policies last week in a very viral way.

Sencillo subir al #Muro pero son muchos los peligros para nuestra gente. Derechos Humanos, principios y dignidad son innegociables #México??pic.twitter.com/9PExn3RlnV

On March 2, the representative from Queretaro posted a Twitter video of himself sitting on top of a thirty foot fence that separates the U.S. from Tijuana, Mexico.

In the clip, Braulio Guerra says in Spanish,“I was able to scale it, climb it, and sit myself right here. It would be simple for me to jump into the United States, which shows that it is unnecessary and totally absurd to build a wall… It shows how unnecessary this project, this political rhetoric from Donald Trump, is.”

Escalé el Muro con EEUU. Mira @realDonaldTrump lo absurdo e innecesario el gasto en este proyecto que agravia y daña nuestra buena vecindad. pic.twitter.com/K2S5RI8a0d

The tweet from Guerra was liked nearly 4,000 times as of March 6.

President Trump’s proposed border wall was a major part of his campaign from the start. However, since taking office, Trump has found difficulty getting the wall project off the ground. The practicality of the project is still in question, as are the financials. Trump has repeatedly said Mexico will “pay” for the wall, which the country has denied at every turn.

In reality, Americans could be the ones paying for Trump’s border wall. And as Guerra showed, a wall is not a practical way to protect the country.
