Fashion Vlogger Loey Lane Calls for Plus-Size Disney Princess

A fashion vlogger is calling on Disney to introduce a plus-size princess.

Loey Lane’s name initially became intertwined with Disney earlier this year when she posted a photo of herself wearing a bikini inspired by The Little Mermaid. At the time, she addressed that she chose to wear the Ariel-inspired swimsuit in a YouTube video entitled “The Not So Little Mermaid.”

Lane said, “The fact that the closet (sic) thing to my body that I could get was Ursula just hurt me so badly as a kid. And I grew up never saying that I wanted to be a princess or playing princess with the other girls. I know that it would have boosted my self-esteem if I had had someone that I could relate to… or someone that looked remotely like me.”

Lane has taken things even further in a new video released to Cosmopolitan’s Facebook page where she calls for Disney to introduce plus-size characters for children to look up to.

While wearing a Snow White dress, Lane says, “We can’t all look exactly the same and that’s a huge reason why I think it’s so important for there to be more diversity in everything that young girls and boys consume.”
