Hedgehog Born Without Any Spikes Is Surprisingly Cute

Although all animals are wild and have the potential to be deadly, we can’t help but be enamored by the cuteness of even the most feral creatures possess. Which is why Nelson the spike-less hedgehog is so special. For reasons unknown the hedgehog born without spikes lives a completely bald but satisfying existence.

Unfortunately for Nelson, he cannot live in his natural habitat and fend for himself against predators without his spiky armor. Foxy Lodge Animal Rescue, the English animal sanctuary that rescued Nelson, cannot understand why Nelson lost his hair and spikes.

“He’s a mystery, but to have survived into adulthood he must have had prickles and his health is very good other than the fact that he is bald,” Foxy Lodge told Honest to Paws.

Nelson’s stay at the sanctuary includes regular massages with therapeutic oils.

Without the help of Foxy Lodge Animal Rescue, Nelson would not be able to survive and showcase his smooth skin to the world. Although he can’t hike mountaintops or travel the world like his spiky comrades, he doesn’t seem to mind.
