Losing a pet can be a devastating experience at any age, but is especially hard on children. Oftentimes they’ll search in vain for months for an animal that’s never coming back.

That’s what happened to the family of Sheryl M. She and her four children were devastated when their beloved family cat disappeared. Even as the weeks passed, the family kept searching for their pet.

Two months after the cat disappeared, Sheryl was filling up her car at a local gas station when she unbelievably found their cat. When she returned home, Sheryl decided to surprise the kids. She secretly made sure the animal’s emotional reunion with her children was filmed for posterity.

The kids are overjoyed to see their beloved feline again, with one of them barely able to croak out anything but “I’m so-I’m so happy.”
